Must be hell on the sinuses too...
for those who don't have the appropriate gear. I suppose those who live there know how to cope.

Including the things that come back home. Everything seems to be coated in dust and sand.

He is home, safe and sound,...............
and now retired from active duty as of April 1, this year. He actually came home March of 2004. Thank God. He was in the Air Force.
Your sweet man will be home too, MilitaryWife. He sounds like quite a fellow. Thank him for what he's doing for all of us, will you? and God bless!

Since you speak of this in past tense, I hope that means your son is home, safe and sound.
It is pretty wild to see. I watched the video with my mouth wide open, I couldn't believe that anyone is even out in it.

I know it does damage paint jobs, not sure how badly though. As for the breathing issues. They are required to use some kind of ventilation mask or something...my husband explained it to me but I forgot exactly what it is if they are outside during this. It covers the whole face and has protective lens for the eyes.

Is there something about a New Mexico rain storm that is different from the ones in Michigan? I have never heard anything about them.

wow, these are
scary ones. I imagine the sand pockmarking one's skin if caught in the storm, and taking the paint right off of vehicles. Do people die in these things, from being unable to breathe, sort of like being caught in an ash flow from a volcano? Hemlocker
