Dave--

"Even the bashiest of the bashers."--has a nice ring to it!

Quirky, glad you replied as I often check back to see. Yes, I do believe too that all human beings are redeemable. Even the bashiest of the bashers.

Dave Cryer--
What an exceptional comment--I'm glad that you took the time to think about this and offer those perspectives. I wouldn't say that I thought of this basher as virtually irredeemable, though...certainly with faults... but isn't every human redeemable??

whacky--
I think some do it on purpose, some do it unintentionally and some do it knowing they are doing it even though it feels wrong. I don't know which is worse, to be "too sensitive" or not sensitive at all.

MayB--
those are some very good points you raise--there are so many different ways to interpret anything, and bashing bloggers is no exception.

 Club Me

Bashing can be fun...but only up to a point... and I agree with myddrin. So there!

Hrmmmm...
This doesn't describe me as a blogger, but as a person in general.

Quirky, you've got my brain cranking too fast too early in the UK
Firstly, I think the last line is the most pertinent line. All bashers have a heart. Being like this in life is just that: it's only 'like this'. The background and reasoning for the basher is complex and always different to the next basher. Your basher is a very specific one, presented provocatively as a virtually irredeemable but omniscient soul. Other bashers differ, I feel, and as MayB suggests, we all have a bit of the basher inside us.

Secondly, if the basher demonstrates such idiosyncracies off line, then the whole world is twisted another twist because we're on Blogit. You can achieve certain things in our Blogit world by feigning some aspects of the basher.

Thirdly, MayB's proviso throws another variable into what and what does not constitute a basher. One person's bash is another person's fair fight of minds.

Interesting post, raising more questions than answers and I'm glad you took the time to explore the issue.

As for the sporadic rhyming and organising into lines - I'm all for it in prose. Prose doesn't have to be prosaic.

Regards,

Dave

I want to live and let live
I sometimes wonder if those who are doing the bashing even know what they are doing...They are so out of touch with their own feelings that they don't know when they hurt someone else. Then there are those like us, who are way too sensitive. I'd rather be that way than to hurt someone.
Take it easy.

Anyone who bashes anyone else can't be very happy on the inside. But in Blogit terms what constitutes a bashing I wonder? I don't believe in making personal attacks (that is a sign of weakness) but I do believe we should feel free to voice our opinion and take up points raised in posts. Unfortunately, sometimes here it is said we don't "play well" and are cast as "mean and judgemental' just for having a view which runs against the tide. I think that many of us suffer by that which probably makes it normal ;-)

You mean you noticed it with me?? That doesn't surprise me, you're very observant, and I'm often very obvious.

I have noticed this "push me-pull you" dynamic. I think we all do it some degree

I noticed your last two lines have "stay" and "away" as a last word. Are you sure this isn't a poem??!!
