Quirky, please pardon my comment here about T-99
I have nothing good here to defend T-99 about.
He/she doesn't deserve to be defended what with his/her "suggestion" to
me about "joining the military and die for my country in Iraq" on my own blog about "Painless ways to commit suicide"

Never said you were a newbie, just seems to me that you put some very negative comments in quite a few people's blogs including mine. And, yes I do read your stuff along with a lot of others, but I don't intend to comment when I don't find it interesting enough. Personally, I don't give a damn what you think about me or my work. But, Quirk has had enough negative comments and hits here lately and I intend to guard her rear when someone tries to attack her. That's all. shadow

T99,
"choosing not to live (or limit) your life by trying not to offend people" is one thing (and I agree with that philosophy)--saying after the fact that you don't care
in the slightest that you did, is another. That, to me, is like saying, "screw you."

K, now I'm confused, T-99...
When you responded to Shadow's comment here, you said,
"so I don't think I qualify as new." She never
said you were new. So, I'm not sure what you're getting at. Also, none of us have said anything against those who post Dist Lists, per se. It was only stated
(in my blog and this one and it's comments) that it's up to the blogger, but a daily list is a bit over the top and can easily be manipulated. If you remember, I stated in my blog,
"Many of you know I don't care whether anyone posts their reading lists or not.....It's always nice to know you're being read, but some of these lists lately are just too many, out of hand and just for clicks! Many of us are well aware that these "lists" can obviously be manipulated (changed) to your liking for the post.....Just WRITE! Earn the clicks for your writing, not just for clicks from those you're supposedly reading!" THAT is the main point here
and there! As is the same in this post, when Quirky stated, "
I don’t believe any blogger ever “needs” to post a list to make a name for themselves."

"it bothers me that someone would say, "Do I care that I offended you? Not in the slightest!" "
I choose not to live (or limit) my life by trying not to offend people - that's an impossible task. I have no control over your emotions, and I don't plan to cater to them.
Myddrin - You obviously haven't read any of my work if you think I don't have my own unique style or a talent for writing. There are several reasons I'm not in the top ten, first and foremost would be because I don't post every day, and the hours I post are not primetime hours for getting viewed.
Second of all, my ORIGINAL comments were in Spitfire's blog about distribution lists, talking about how NEW people can get noticed. I've been here longer than you AND Quirky combined, so I don't think I qualify as new. Distribution lists *are* a great way for people to draw people to them - there are a number of people I have found via distribution lists that I never knew were there.

wenchy--wow, thank you for your kind and complimentary words!
Your comment will go in my "warm fuzzy" file for sure! I guess the word I had trouble with was "draining,"--it conjures up all sorts of negative connotations for me, as though I just open up a vein and spilled my blood onto the page--I mean, anyone can do that, it requires no talent or thought to drain your emotions onto the page. So I really appreciate what you said. As for Pee Anon, you are *always* welcome, certificate or not.

I've loved your writing from day one 'cause it's full of wit and warmth and
depth and whimsy. That's what drew me in and what keeps me reading :).
Your accounts of the more painful aspects of your life fill me with admiration for you and your courage. You write of them with great emotional honesty and I do not have the words to express how very much I hope that continues to be a cathartic experience for you. I have never, ever thought of the latter as you "draining" your emotions on to a page and feel it diminishes the magnitude of talent you have as a writer and the sheer depth and insight and wisdom you have as a human being to call it such. I like ya, Quirky One :).
PS: At work I had to attend a continence seminar and I now have an official continence management certificate (needless to say I framed it and put it on the wall in our guest toilet, moohahaha) ... does that mean I can't be a member of Pee-Anon anymore?? ;) xx

I've been anti-distribution list since my first week here back in January. I have been in the top ten since March and I've never posted a Distribution lists. I am happy to ignore Distribution lists as long as I'm able. It's when Bloggers get tricky and do not state, in their titles, that this is a Dist list that I get a bit miffed.

Well, I consider you as a unique individual as I would any one else blogging. All of us have our own little personality "quirks" (hee hee), but that's what makes us special. Personally, T99's comments sound a bit jealous to me, like she's upset that she doesn't have a unique style of writing talent, and/or courage and personality enough to get her into the top ten as fast. shadow

qwerty, I agree to an extent...but if a person is "closed off emotionally"
often they bring that to the keyboard and their writing lacks "heart." Anyway, the way you put it "writing their emotions into what they write" sounds a lot better than "draining onto a page." Thanks!

T99, having slept on it, I just have to say one more thing:
it bothers me that someone would say, "Do I care that I offended you? Not in the slightest!" That seems a little rude and uncaring, which, having come to know you here, seems uncharacteristic. I still like you, and I respect your right to say what you want but it seems you sometimes "don't play well with others." And yet, at other times you've offered me some incredible insight--so, thank you--I look forward to more of those times!

and it would be questionable if you had ever claimed to be "normal." (Of course, what is the definition of normal, anyway?!) Though, I must mention to T-99, you know I read you and hopefully you know I respect the fact that you're not afraid to express your opinions,(preachin' to the choir, there!) but I gotta say, there are many times when your words to some are a bit judgmentally harsh. Playing Devil's Advocate to introduce different takes on a subject now and then is one thing, but....

Frankly, I would have been offended by Tamara's comments and I'm surprised that you weren't. She insinuates that you're emotionally fucked up and that this is the major reason behind your success here on Blogit.
While you may well be emotionally fucked up, I think your endearing personality and catchy writing skills are what have placed you above the so-called 'normal' bunch.
