If that were addressed to anyone else, it might be informative, Blogit.......but Ariala has been at the top of the list almost 100% of the time since the contest last October, and has had multiple blogs in the top 10 the entire time.  She knows all about marketing herself to be read.

Ariala

The earnings system is controlled by readers, and is based on how often they read a particular writer. For example, if a particular reader reads a writer 20% of the time, that writer will receive 20% of their monthly payment to writers.

This means that the writers who earn the most are the ones who consistently post work of interest. Writers can even write multiple blogs to appeal to different groups of readers.

For more information on earnings, please see the Earnings help page:

Brian, how come I used to make twice as much as I do now? Have
twice the people stopped clicking on me or am I twice as naive about how brilliant I am?

Earnings etc.
lackadasial, first of all take a deep breath!

OK, here are some reasons why you should not be worried about this.

First of all, as we mention in the Blogit help page called Getting Paid:
Since a reader's subscription fee is divided between writers at the end of the reader's monthly cycle, it may take up to two months for writers to receive all of their earnings.
And what you are seeing is just a forecast. That means it will fluctuate until the end of the month at which time you will have an accurate read on your earnings.

But please note it will take up to 2 months for your earnings to accurately reflect your readership. That's because, say a Blogit member Jack reads you but his Reader Cycle doesn't end until the 16th of July. That means, you won't see the correct payment from him until the end of July on your account even if he was reading you in the second half of June.

Also, if someone has read 20 pages of your work but read 200 pages each month, then you'll get only 10% of their reader payment for the whole month. That's not very much. So you need to try and attract loyal readers who will be reading mostly your work only. Blogit member ritchie does an incredible job of signing up subscribers who're interested in his blogs.

Also, comments do not count towards either ranking or earnings. Many times people will go comment on something without even reading the work since they're responding to other readers. In that case, you may have multiple comments but absolutely no earnings.

Finally, you have to look at your overall rankings for all of Blogit. Your highest rankings are in the 40s. But that's darn good for someone who's been here only a month!!  So give it time and don't stress about earnings on a daily basis but look at the monthly picture...after the first two months are over.

Hope that helps!

Regards,

Brian
