ginnieb, thank you for reading and commenting. Bloggers here are wonderful
people, even when driving me crazy or making me sad. I love the diversity...

B, always remember and never forget

Age and treachery will always top youth and enthusiasm.

I meant "Age and experience"....

jemmie and scriber, I had been away, working too much and not reading

many blogs, or reading with no time for writing comments. My comments are usually overlong, painting myself into corners here doing that, so, I just read and ran on down my list of favorites, reading more, no time to comment. Like Alice in the Queen's gardens, or rather, more like the White Rabbit, consulting my watch and and running on.

I know that some readers never comment and so, I just wanted to thank everyone, even those who found no time to write. And I thank you two for reading and commenting......no time to write, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late, for a very important delivery date, of my artwork......

hi doll, great idea thanking bloggers for reading you; why can't I ever

think of things like that?  Scriber.

AuntieK, no, I will probably not say good-bye upon leaving here, I will
just have a stroke at my keyboard and, unless the family blogs on, ( finding my password under my desk mat and using up my subscription here), I shall leave it all in mystery.......

maj, maybe not at the top of my physical game, but at the top in terms of
accumulated experience, no? Not the same as on top mentally. When offering the grandchildren a choice at lunch time, I asked, " So, who wants the chicken soap and who wants the beef?" Not trusting me any longer, they all requested peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwiches.

notapoet, I read you, too and thank you for leaving comments. If it appears
to everyone that I am fishing for more compliments, it isn't so, I am over full of blog love already and wouldn't know where to put it. Thanks for commenting on my writing, that pleases me most.....your old grandmother.

beachbelle, this merry Merry Go Round Blog life is such fun and yet, not

easy to maintain. Prioritizing chews me up as I'd always rather put fun things at the very top and get to real life sustaining, ie. rent paying, things a little later........

Man, you scared me there for a minute!
I was afraid you were leaving. Whew :)

Benzinha
I just read this post and your previous one a short while ago.  You amaze and inspire me.  You make me grateful there are people like you in this world.  I don't have the words to express how much these two posts mean to me.  Or how much I appreciate you.  I feel proud to have you as my adopted Grandma.

I read this post a couple of hours back but it was the merry-go-round in action which meant I couldn't comment then. Lovely. I have to get off the merry-go-round, I have other things which need writing if I am ever to make it to the beach and write as you believe I can do. I believe it too but it's time to act.

Temple, go to bed!! I love Billy's poetry and discovered him before I ever

knew what a special fellow he was.

My letters to my friend in Viet Nam, and he was a friend and not boyfriend,  had little notes in them from my girlfriends, pictures from my kids, quizzes for him to distract himself with, descriptions of just a day in the life of a mad housewife, things that were up, but not too up. He couldn't stand too many reminders of my reality as opposed to his, but told me that he preferred the chatty and funny letters with funny photos, to the more serious ones.

The kids and I would take outrageous photos, as a family portrait with dogs dressed up, etc. My girlfriends would write naughty notes and tell him to pass them on to a soldier.....no signature, just a naughty note. Things like that. The two realities are so far apart, but most say that good news from home is best.

This is such a great line, great visual...

....some days it feels like I’m just shouting at you from my horsie on the Merry Go Round as we pass by each other each time that I spot you as I go around.

Excellent.  It's true one day, with or without the lottery, we will meet.  When Billy is home and the war is over, we will meet and burn that fire in celebration of his homecoming and for peace (in the moment).  He loved that, about burning a fire he can see way out at sea.  I just feel it to be true, so I hope it's all right with you!   People come together in odd places for unknown reasons, but their purpose is vital and essential.  Life lessons always await, as you know, and someday we will get to talk about them.  I'm glad, so very glad, you are here (so is Billy, but he has little time to read, or even write these days).  I know you will be a good resource for me over these next 6 or 7 months.  I send you an engrossing book on tape, bright blooming flowers, fresh grapes, and quiet time.
