another Colorado sundown

Here in Colorado Springs we are still getting smoke haze from the wildfires ~100 miles to the northwest and west. By the fire and smoke map, there are five fires burning in Colorado, and some in Utah. Of course, we get smoke on the wind from all the fires burning from here to the Pacific, and that... Colorado evening skies

https://flic.kr/ps/rhS1C It was a beautiful sky this evening! Could be some of it's from the wildfires on the western side of Colorado. None of these clouds, though, brought us rain. Temps in the 90s F all afternoon, but the clouds came in and the temps fell down into the 80s. My world travels these... Sign in to see full entry.

How about a flight over snow-capped mountains?

Pikes Peak adventures

Colorado Skies

https://www.flickr.com/gp/therovingeye/N230R5 We had a storm at sunset Wednesday evening... One side of the house, a golden sunset, on the other, a spectacular rainbow! It was too big to fit in my camera, so here it is in pieces! Sign in to see full entry.

Mountain Journeys

Another anniversary of the eruption of Mt Saint Helens has just passed--the May 18, 1980 event that sent a goodly portion of the mountain across country. I've visited it a few times in the years since, and these are the best of those images: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjUzxy4X And here are a few more... Sign in to see full entry.

The Art of the Building

One of my favorite subjects is architecture. It is structure and beauty, it is history. It was my first overseas trip--Italy--that woke me to this, and when I came home to Olympia WA, I started looking up and was amazed! This album is a bit disorganized, there are probably some repeat images. One... Sign in to see full entry.

A year ago April, Charlie and I had maybe our last great travel adventure together. We were in China for 8 days, plus 1 each, coming and going. It was just enough time to be that far from everything familiar and easy. It was 8 days in an atmosphere of awareness of political hostility, knowing that... Sign in to see full entry.
