Setting the default to emphasize "freshest content" rather than "most frequently read" was also a good move for many reasons -- I should encourage people to write and post more frequently, and "popularity" does not necessarily mean "well written," more often than not it means being part of a clique of bloggers and therefore favored those who use Blogit as virtual community over those who use Blogit for other purposes such as writing and exploring ideas (not to suggest that the former and the latter are mutually exclusive, of course).
One suggestion: Is it possible for Blogit to upgrade its search engines so that a reader can search all posts on Blogit for topics the same way that Goggle does for all posts in Usernet groups? That would be really helpful for those of us who want to read both old and new posts on a particular topic area or using certain key words.
Blogit has made excellent changes. Also, I appreciate the fact that Blogit allows one to continue to revise (or delete) previous posts. As we all know, writing is in the revision.
