Sweet smelling snow in my driveway

I had not been home in days. The children were away with their father on a ski trip.I dedicated my time to negotiating helicopters. That's another story. It has been raining for almost two weeks. Normally when it rains I concern myself with the nuttiest details. I hear this voice screaming " Mud... Sign in to see full entry.

Rainy nights, I'm leaving the sandbags in place for a while

I knew a storm was impending. I just chose to believe it was going to pass me over. When winter weather is pending I have this pile of sandbags that I tow out to the front hillside and use to reroute the river that flows past the front of my garden. If I don't put the sandbags out there- the... Sign in to see full entry.

Three fountains in my garden. The backyard wall hanging I recovered from a salvage yard. If I tell you the magazine that did a photo shoot with that fountain you will gag, hint she's doing time. They offered me cold cash to keep it, I only allowed pictures as I know they will be coming out with a... Bough hunting (countdown to Christmas- Thursday night the 16th we celebrate as the children leave on the 17th...). The moon was barely cooperating last night- she's only a tiny piece of a moon sharing little light. The Santa Ana winds chased away the stratus clouds allowing the stars to light my... I have to... Sign in to see full entry.

I ordered one thousand paper white narcissus from a wholesale Dutch bulb company. They arrived friday after Thanksgiving. The bulbs are gifts in crystal bowls with sand that we put together over the weekend. I was thinking of how wonderful they smell. Hopefully they will be blooming in everyone's... I'm headed to San Juan Capistrano this morning to the wholesale garden flower mart. I'm no retail outlet but some time ago they allowed me to show them my resale license and set up an account. I need some reds, golds and burnt fall colors for my front planters and hanging baskets. This place has... Sign in to see full entry.

Postman ringing

Someone is sending me a message today, please try and interpret for me. Early this morning Blackie the Anna's hummingbird that patrols the trumpet vines allowed two new females to drink from his flowers. He is usually so territorial that he dive bombs the cat when she walks near. Blackie ( I... Sign in to see full entry.

Odor from above

I can't see the house above me on the hill. All one can spy through the trees is an outdoor shower. The shower has a solar warming unit and seems like a great idea for a beachhouse I thought the skunks were back. Perhaps possums were up there I pondered. Some rotten odor was on that side of the...
