Daughter #2 (Wild Child)

Talking about Daughter #1's birth reminded me of Wild Child's birth. After a very long pregnancy where morning sickness during the first 3 months turned into 9-1/2 months of morning, afternoon, evening, and all night vomiting. I kept waiting for my head to start spinning around like the exorcist.... Sign in to see full entry.

Bashful

I haven't said much about Daughter #1 (Bashful). She was actually born exactly a month from her due date. A couple of salesmen came to my door when I was 3 weeks overdue. After listening to their nonsense for a couple of minutes, one of them finally noticed I was pregnant and asked when I was due.... Sign in to see full entry.

More injuries

Daughter #2 (Free Spirit) came to my husband and I one day and announced that she wanted to take gymnastics. Now mind you, this is a child who has had numerous concussions, a skull fracture, broken wrist and finger (stuck her fingers in the hinge part of the door and sister shut the door-twice!),... Aching Head Continued

Back to my little free spirit... Next concussion was soon after when she fell off the monkey bars at school. Well, she didn't exactly fall. It had iced the night before and why the teachers let the kids get on the monkey bars is beyond me, but they did and of course, free spirit climbed to the top... Sign in to see full entry.

Her Aching Head!

Even though wild child was fun and crazy and kept us up at night wondering what she had planned next, daughter #3 (free spirit) presented an entirely different problem. She fell all the time. Even a completely level, clutter-free tile floor caused a wipeout. Let me explain. Her first concussion came... Sign in to see full entry.

Poor Cat!

Back to wild child. When she was two, she delighted in tormenting our very patient cat, Rosie (who became Roosevelt when we discovered "she" was a "he!"). One day, Rosie was standing on the windowsill looking out the window and not bothering a soul. He was watching the birds so his tail was sticking... Sign in to see full entry.

Why Do Pregnancies Differ So Much?

I should have known daughter #2 (otherwise known as wild child) was going to be a challenge from day one. I was so sick when pregnant with her that my husband had to cook for and feed the older two kids while I hid out in the bedroom with a towel stuffed under the door so I couldn't smell the food... Two Year Old Pride

Before our new church was built, parents of small children would sit in a hallway on folding chairs with our little ones. That way our children would not disrupt church, but we could still hear and see what was going on. One morning, we had all taken our seats in the narrow hallway and most parents... Birthday

Went to Pump It Up yesterday for my grandson's fifth birthday. Watching all the kids bouncing on the inflatables reminded me of my wild child when she was little. Every time I would check on my kids outside, I would ask where daughter #2 was and everyone would point up. She would be on the roof (I... Sign in to see full entry.

Obama

My six year old granddaughter came over tonight and was playing with my cat, Pete. She looked at me with a serious expression and said, "Guy, you should have named your cat Obama." When I asked her why, she said, "Well, because he's part black and part white." Of course! I should have known that!... Sign in to see full entry.
