The Klan is a Masonic order. Just look up Albert Pike on wiki. There are both white and black Masonic brotherhoods in the US. Lipstick on a Pig

Other than it being cutesy and anecdotal, I don't know much about putting lipstick on a pig. Most of my experience with such animals has been piecemeal.
