Politicians and the Six and Half Dozen of Economics

Apparently Republicans see an Obama presidency as a return to "tax and spend" liberalism. How those of us who are working and keeping congress fed are supposed to see a difference between that and "borrow and raise prices" conservatism is what I'd like to know.
