People with kids: A probable lack of understanding

I really wonder if the people I am on the phone with, who have kids in the room with them, understand that I hold the phone out at arm's length whenever their child lets out one of those 19th octave, ultra-high-pitched, blood-wrenching, spine-curdling, gut-tingling screams.
