Are You Involved In The World?

I haven't asked myself that question in a long time. I remember being very passionate about a lot of issues when I was younger, before I had children, got married, divorced, moved across the planet and back. There is a lot going on in the world, the same struggle that's always existed. Greedy, powerful people taking advantage of and abusing poor, unnoticed people. I just watched a movie called FLOW. Creepy Crawlies

There are a lot of disgusting little creatures here in the SubTropics. I'm from the Pacific Northwest where we may have some disgusting bugs, but not like down here. They're everywhere and they come in waves. To top it off they either bite, stink, sting, or are just plain disgusting. The first wave here were these green caterpillars. Really cool looking, but they can sting you to the point of death, I think, I don't want to find out! They were everywhere on our back porch for about a week. Got a... Sign in to see full entry.

Easter Party?

All day long my street has been bustling with people and activity. Barbecues, tables set up in driveways, people on porches. It's like a big festival on this street, whenever anything happens. It's already a friendly neighborhood, and whenever I'm out and someone passes by they say hello, or stop to chat. Anything of interest people take note of. Online Jobs

I like the flexibility of being able to work online. I'm sure I'm not alone, judging by the number of online jobs advertised on the internet. I seem to have found one that is somewhat decent, but making 5$ an hour isn't that great. Certainly not what I feel there is a potential for? I notice that on Blogit there is one blog that updates freelance writing jobs (cool, I added it to my blog list!). I wonder if any of you do freelance writing? Little Bear

I've been working on carving a little bear out of basswood for my mother. She half-heartedly believes in animal totems, and strongly feels that she's a bear. A big female Grizzly Bear. She dated a guy for a few years that believed in animal spirits. He was a bow hunter, and he used to put the organs from a fresh kill into a tree. That way his animal spirit, the crow, could get the gift. He also used to weave grass rings in some belief in the Circle Of Life, that somehow that set the deer or elk... Sign in to see full entry.

This blog is turning out to be about me and people in my life and my doggie too! I am a guy in Seattle. I'm going to retire in a few years and if anything this is the story of how that is going to go- I only hope up!
