Aren’t people exasperating? At least twenty-five years ago, I read about what we could certainly expect when a hurricane hit New Orleans, flooding, failed levees, deaths, chaos, and devastation. Did we prepare for Katrina? Nope. Human actions and neglect caused barrier Islands and cubic miles of sandbars to be lost to the Caribbean waves. Miles of salt marshland and farmland are now gone forever, when much of the effect of storm surge waves could have been mitigated, if humans had stabilized... Sign in to see full entry.
