Remembrance

I'm not sure whether the same ceremonies are observed in America or Canada; today we have had our annual memorial services, throughout the UK, for those who gave their lives in war so that we can enjoy living in freedom. Time for talking?

Do I have enough love to go round? I don't have material wealth, but I can give my time and energy to looking after my loved one who really needs it at the moment. 'Don't worry, be happy'

And so to this week's reading... it could have been made for me: 'Do not worry' (Matthew 6:25-34). It's true we can't add any extra time to our lives by worrying, and even my not-quite-atheist dad always said 'you die if you worry and you die if you don't.' This was a bit heavy, possibly, when... Shipwrecked?

The collect for today, the 12th Sunday after Trinity, speaks of God being more ready to listen than we are to pray. How true that is. Should I be asking for more grace?
