This is only the beginning of Anna's story. I'm giving myself just eight days to finish the first draft. Please tell me what you think if you happen to read this. Cheers! THE MIRACLE OF THE LIGHTS The first night of Hanukkah, 1941 Somewhere in the Polish countryside It’s dark now, and bone chilling... Sign in to see full entry.

MY BIRTHDAY DILEMMA
I just got off the phone with Mum, who was on her way to go Christmas shopping. My birthday is only nine days away, so she asked the annual question... "So, any ideas on what you might want for your birthday?" And every year, my answer is exactly the same... "Ummm, I dunno." She laughed. "No idea at... Sign in to see full entry.
ANOTHER PRECIOUS LIFE SAVED
I've done it! I just completed filing for adoption of a penguin for Roommie. She's gonna be so surprised! I can't wait to give it to her. And the best part is knowing that I've saved the life of one very precious little bird. I can't think of a finer Christmas gift to give someone. Penguin was... Sign in to see full entry.
HAPPY SUNNY FRIDAY
The weekend is finally here! YAY! Roommie and I are going to decorate the house a bit more tomorrow and Sunday. It's a beautiful sunny Friday morning and the snow is melting. We're expect more sometime on Sunday evening, but I don't know how many inches they're predicting. Mum was supposed to come... Sign in to see full entry.

QUICK AS SAINT NICK
I love that browsing the web makes Christmas shopping so easy for me. I just got an email from Defenders of Wildlife, and until midnight tomorrow night you can adopt a penguin for a $10.00 donation. So, guess what Roommie's getting for Christmas this year? I'm also still going to buy her a penguin... Sign in to see full entry.
BACK AT LAST!
The sun has finally repositioned itself, so at last I can come back here to read and write! Good for me! There's a lot to be written, so let's get started, shall we? Sign in to see full entry.
BLINDED BY THE LIGHT!
Litterally! Here I sit, trying to type and read, and I can hardly see a thing! The sun is incredibly bright this morning. It might melt the snow, so whoopie! But I can't see! No wonder Doctor Herman thinks I'm a vampiress! I'd wear sunglasses, but then I'd really be in big trouble. As if having... Sign in to see full entry.

AN ICY LIGHT SHOW
Okay, I'm freaking out here! It's only the beginning of December, and we just had a mini thunder and lightening storm! The sky actually flashed a really bright blue! I HATE THUNDER AND LIGHTENING! Especially in the winter months. It just isn't natural and it scares the unholy hell out of me. Thank... Sign in to see full entry.
YOUTUBE NEEDS TO GROW UP
This morning I went to youtube to try and find a video for the song I WANT A HIPPO FOR CHRISTMAS. Well, I found one that's actually really funny and fun to watch. That is, until you reach the very end of it. They actually curse at the end of the video. NOT APPROPRIATE for small children who may... Sign in to see full entry.
A BRIEF INTERMISSION
Well, I've decided not to delete my poem from last night after all. I'm simply going to write a second draft of it. That'll give the first draft a chance to be read. I'd really appreciate feedback from anyone who happens to read it. I'm off to the shower, but I'll be back soon... Sign in to see full entry.
ALL ON A WINTER'S MORN
Good morning everyone... Here in Maine more snow is falling. According to the most recent weather forecasts, we're now expecting the white fluffy stuff straight through Saturday. Not my idea of a fun way to spend the weekend! Ah, well. At least it'll make good writing and reading weather. I'll... Sign in to see full entry.

ANOTHER CHRISTMAS POEM
WHEN THE ANIMALS SPOKE A bright star Hung over a stable And animals gathered round They too, bowed their heads And kneeled on the soft ground But did you know That as they marvelled They whispered soft and low The king has come, Tell everyone! He is here! No need to fear He came for one and all Even... Sign in to see full entry.

SHORT STUFF
ODE TO THE VERTICALLY CHALLENGED! Is it a curse? Why was I born With short, stubby Bones? Blame Mother Blame Father It’s all their faults, You see! Yet still they laugh Those who created And gave birth to me! Things piled high Upon a shelf I might reach Were I an elf No one cares Oh, woe is me! They... Sign in to see full entry.
O, THAT FROSTY AIR!
Roommie's gone off for a bit, she'll be back this afternoon. So, I've got the house to myself until about 2:00. What to do? Write, of course! I definetly DO NOT like all this frosty air and snow laid on the ground! Roommie opened the front door this morning to put food out on the ramp for the stray... Sign in to see full entry.

THE SNOW KEEPS FALLING
Roommie and I have just finished dinner and looking out the kitchen windows we've just realised...The snow is falling again! Apparently, we're expecting a storm throughout Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Ah, well. It's gonna come whether I want it to or not. The trick now is to find a way to deal... THE CONSOLATION OF WORDS
It's getting harder now to console myself about certain things that have happened over this long, miserable year. Things went well until mid-March. After that, the year just completely went to hell. I thank God every day that He bestowed upon me the gracious gift of being able to write. I don't... Sign in to see full entry.

IN HONOUR OF SAINT KLAUS
WHO IS SANTA KLAUS? Who is Santa Klaus? Why is he so kind? Is he someone real Or made up in our minds? Will he really live forever Or slowly fade away? Why will I forget him some day? All the toys he brought me The ones he carved himself I still have his manger scene Here upon my shelf A Noah’s ark... Sign in to see full entry.
