Yesterday I read an editorial by Mr. Scharansky. He too was deported - or allowed to emigrate - to Israel. He is an originator of Soviet nuclear technology. My weekend to rest has paid dividends. I am 90% over

The H5N1 virus that I contaiged last week while exhausting myself with worry over oldest daughter's surgery. I stayed up all night Wednesday night and missed school on Thursday. It is Sunday morning. All is quiet. Both daughters are still sleeping after an eventful weekend. My little six foot patient, has spent the last nine hours flat on her back. I got her KFC for lunch immediately following surgery so she could take the pain meds. Then she wanted a milk shake. I am standing in the waiting room at the surgery center, across the street from the hospital where both my children were born seventeen and sixteen years ago.
