Sitting in Village Inn after our walk around Gray's Lake, the subject came up of my applying for a job teaching out in their school district. The population in that community is 99% Caucasion. What our outgoing superintendent calls (pollitically correctly) negative academic factors, basically do not... Sign in to see full entry.

Walking at Gray's Lake, part 2.............................................
We had a nice long walk around Gray's Lake in the June evening. Cannot beat Iowa for June weather. The nights are fair and beautiful. The tilt of the earth gives the night a different atmosphere with, say, Alabam -- which I love too! But just different. My girls and me held hands most the way... Sign in to see full entry.
Going For a Walk at Gray's Lake............................................
My daughter just called me to ask if I would get my sorry ass outta bed and take her for a walk. I said yes, and felt like a great sacrificing Dad. It made me feel noble and giving, a vision of parenthood, in scotch pajamas. Now I have to follow through and actually get dressed. She's picking me up... Sign in to see full entry.

The Sopranos
First a word about my daughters. They have been out of school for a week and are scarcely aware of the relief I am feeling at having finished up my last day of school. No unpleasant scenes, no sick days. That gives me seven consecutive years of perfect attendance. Both girls are working nearly every... Sign in to see full entry.

When I Hit the Century Mark. I'm Now at 360...............................
I Was Like Some Dufus Country Bumpkin, Fresh from the Appalachians. Well, the century mark! I never thought it would happen for me but it has! God bless each and every one of you. I don't know what I have done to deserve your patronage. I am certain that my brand of gibberish is no better than... Sign in to see full entry.

I wrote to the lawyer and told him I was relieved that my counseler at "Children in the Middle" felt that the court might be reluctant to uproot the kids. He fired back that it was no guarantee. I know he's trying to keep me sharp, so I'm not going where I want to go. Namely that he seems to be... Sign in to see full entry.

OK, Tonight a Blogger Spills His Guts...................
I learned something tonight about myself, by attending the Children in the Middle class required by the court. We are going for a modification of the divorce decree, because my two girls have been living with me for over two years and we still have to pay child support. What I learned while ticking... One Blogger Who Isn't Afraid...............................................
To tell about his day. Well, I slept until at least ten. But I remember having a senior moment this A.M @ 4:30. My new Blackberry, in adition to being my cellular telephone connect to my kids 24-7, and my Blogit! comments-check every day, also serves as my alarm clock. But only on weekdays. So this... This blogger's night (and summer) was spoiled by an industrial accident
You know that troubling feeling, when your kid is at a plateau? For some it becomes a glass ceiling and quickly is followed by termination of the activity. Well, we have been there this last three weeks. It is the probationary period for my youngest daughter, at the nicest superstore in the area.... Sign in to see full entry.
