Bannings or Suspension

I have noticed on some other online venues that memberships are sometimes suspended for three days or a week or two. This can allow a situation to calm down and it can also allow for reflection and for all evidence to be considered.

It is something worth looking at as a warning and cautionary measure and for damage limitation. A temporary suspension could be brought into effect rapidly for particular infringements  under a strict code of conduct - regarding language and personal attacks in particular -  but allow room on all sides for a civil retreat.   Instead of waiting for a situation to escalate, a suspension would ease the situation immediately allowing all parties time and space to consider the next step.
