I suppose I should give a ship.

Tom Delay’s political career sets sail. Good bye Tom, don’t delay leaving. I don’t know what you did but it was either very bad or just something the opposition could use against you. At any rate, you should have been smarter. And since you’ve cut and run, everybody is going to assume you were... Sign in to see full entry.

A confession.

I might need to act my age. I signed my mother up for the Medicare drug scandal, er, I mean benefit plan this afternoon. It was confusing, and in the end, of dubious value, only saving her roughly $15 a year. All too soon, I will be making that same decision. I will be 59 this May. Odd, I don’t feel... No one “wins” a war.

Wars are fought over ideas, people die but the ideas live on. Hitler was soundly defeated in WWII, yet today we see the resurgence of the Neo-Nazis. Japan suffered the horrendous blow of two atomic bombs, yet today the country thrives and is an industrial giant. Saddam Hussein was rousted from... Sign in to see full entry.

What would be an acceptable excuse for killing?

A crime of passion? Self defense? These come to mind readily, but not what happened to Martin Malone of Philadelphia. Malone got no brotherly love Tuesday according to a news release. Six people shot at after rave party. The 28 year old shooter was described by various acquaintances as being the last person one would think would do this kind of thing. So often, it seems, the people that go on a killing spree are characterized as this man’s apartment manager did him, “This would... Sign in to see full entry.

A chemical nation

Americans are doling anti-psychotic drugs out to their children in record numbers, according to an Associated Press story by Lindsey Tanner. From 1995 to 2002 the number of children prescribed these drugs increased tenfold to an “estimated 2.5 million” according to a recent study. That translates to... Sign in to see full entry.

Movie review, Crash.

Worth a second viewing. The subject is racism and modern society. The plot twists and character interactions keep you guessing. This is one of those movies that starts at the end, then takes you back to the beginning, which is confusing in some aspects and why a person might want to watch it twice.... Crime may not pay, but reading would have.

A man scheduled to show up for a plea and sentence hearing, hadn’t read the front page story about his fingerprints identifying him in other, more serious matters. Don’t go fly a kite.

Kite flying outlawed. Yes, those airborne devils are at it again. I heard it on the radio, and read it in the paper, but alas, I don’t remember where it happened. Ok, somewhere where they don’t like kites, obviously. No, retract that, they like the kites just fine, but every year they have a... Sign in to see full entry.
