Father's Day

I'll bet you were all just waiting at the edge of your seats to discover what I got the Otter for Father's Day. No? Well, tough; you're going to hear about it anyway, because if I don't write it down now two weeks ago I'll be going, "What the heck did we do for Father's Day?" I'm already having... My links are up!

I've been sneaking the links on for the past week, but now there are three, which seems like enough to announce. So look to the right for my links, especially the More Links link. I'll be adding to the More Links page over the next week. Sign in to see full entry.

Still not rid of the damn gas!

Remember how I was all happy that the plumber had found the sewer gas leak? Well, he found a sewer gas leak. He didn't find all the sewer gas leaks! Otter kept saying "It'll dissipate, it'll dissipate! You're too impatient!" But I knew something was still wrong. i called the plumber a few days ago... Sign in to see full entry.

A Great Hamburger Recipe

I've been meaning to post this since yesterday. I think I've finally perfected my hamburger recipe! Here it is: (Note to people who like to grill, or who have been so brainwashed by the "pod people who follow the seasons league" that they feel they must grill in the summer even though they live in... Would this really happen?

I just finished listening to an NPR report about the Bush adminstration's handling of gay and lesbian issues. The Family Life Council (a very conservative evengelical Christian political organization, for those of you who haven't heard of them) are unhappy with George W., and a spokesman for the... What do I do about....

I'm gathering things for a garage sale, gathering things I can sell for some real money, and gathering things to pack up and store because I know I might want them in the new house, but I don't need them now. (For example, we're not going to do a lot of entertaining between now and building the new... Sign in to see full entry.

Why are cute men embarrasing?

I was in the drug store today. As I walked to the pharmacy I passed a very attractive young man setting up a display. He looked at me as I went past, likely in a "does she know my mom?" sort of way rather than a "cute chick" way. The item I needed was a big box of condoms. After getting them, I... Salt and salt-free

The Emeril sentences in the preceding post reminded me that I never posted two recipes I had been meaning to share. The first is for a normal dish. The second is what Otter eats when he's trying to make weight. It's hard to make salt-free chicken that has any flavor at all! Marinated Pork Roast 1... Sign in to see full entry.

For people who like "R"s, and Trek Geeks, too

I've had a headache for the past few days, and I haven't felt like Blogging. I haven't added anything to my private journal, either, not even a note like "2 loads laundry" or "dinner: pork roast." (I like to keep track of things like that so when Otter is feeling grumpy because the towels are dirty... Sign in to see full entry.
