" Writers Block " The dreaded curse !

Sometimes when I write poetry I get the feeling that my pen is a scalpel, and that I am ‘sculpturing’ words that appear inside my mind. Usually to begin with I work heavily with a ‘cold chisel’, and then as the words begin to appear in my head, I use more ornate and delicate tools to do the fine... Sign in to see full entry.

"LOVEBIRD" Just to show that i'm an old softy at heart !

As I strolled through crowds, all by myself, and held my head up high, I smiled at people passing me, but wished that I could cry. For I thought I had her love for life, a good and precious thing, a love so strong and full of joy, it made this lovebird sing. I tried so hard to do my best, and worked... CHILDREN OF THE QUAKE

Everything normal, peaceful, tranquil. Suddenly no birdsong, no insect noise, no wind? ( Deathly silence ) Vibration! Vibration! Vibration! Vibration! Shattering noise, everything shaking and tearing itself apart! As the walls come tumbling down, huge cracks in the street spew forth poisonous gas,... Sign in to see full entry.

the sights, the sounds, the smells that are " BLACKPOOL".

Sticky toffee apples, ‘Kiss me quick’, tame donkey’s on the beach, sand in hair, the seaweeds song, and parsons try to preach. As gulls fly in to steal your chips, the candy floss is bobbing, hot dogs ouze their mustard sauce, and trams so full, arn’t stopping. The funfair rides go round and round,... Bagman Pete, A tramps tale

A few days ago I was walking through my Town centre when I came across a scruffy, filthy old man. all he had to his name was two carrier bags which he kept looking inside of. I felt sorry for him so gave him a £5 note to get something warm to eat. I'll probably never know what became of him, but... Sign in to see full entry.

Scotlands worst storm

About thirty years ago I was unfortunate enough to be four and a half thousand feet up at the top of Ben Nevis in Scotland. A group of twelve of us were going to spend the night there. However as the sun went down an awsome storm hit us, i'll never know how we survived!, as it was later recorded as... Sign in to see full entry.

"Missing You " A poem for my children

As time goes by, I’ve missed so much, your loving hugs and gentle touch. As your bodies grow too fast to see, I hope you’ll both remember me. A few hours here, a few days there, some stolen time to show I care. Small locks of hair, I’ve kept for years, to have you close, would halve my tears. I’m... Sign in to see full entry.

On Second Thoughts ? a message of hope.

If you don’t think you need your inner strength, if you don’t think you need your pride. If you don’t think you need some faith in god, to ensure he’s on your side. If you don’t think you need your courage, if you don’t think you need your love. If when all is lost, when nothings left, and push has... Sign in to see full entry.

And God said to the people of HAITI---

My ears will hear your screams for help My eyes will help you see a new tomorrow My hands will help you dig through the rubble My legs will support your heavy weight My arms will carry you to safety My body will be your bread today My blood will be your water supply My heart will beat in time with... THE AGONY OF EXSTACY !

Alone down a squalid back alley, how I wish I could change and go back, to the normal existence I once had, away from my sordid world of heroin and smack. With no money for a fix, I robbed an old girl, her purse and her pension I stole, as she lay on the ground, not a thought did I give, to the pain... Sign in to see full entry.
