THE BIG TWELVE

Thirty-two teams began the Championship Chase back in September. Now we are down to the Big Twelve. In the NFC: 1. Giants 2. Panthers 3. Vikings 4. Cardinals 5. Falcons 6. Eagles In the AFC: 1. Titans 2. Steelers 3. Dolphins 4. Chargers 5. Colts 6. Ravens The NFC field is completely different than... Sign in to see full entry.

TURN OUT DA LIIIIGHTS...

....the parties over. For Texas Stadium, that is. But not the Cowboys playoffs hopes, because even with their loss to Baltimore Saturday night Dallas is still in the hunt. For today, Minnesota, Tampa and Philly all failed in their attempts to stay ahead of the 'Boys. First, to Saturday's game. Tony... Sign in to see full entry.

OLD SCHOOL!

That was football. Stone-Age, Rock 'em, Sock 'em, Knuckles in the dirt football. Forget that 49-48 stuff. Give me Steelers-Ravens 13-9 any day of the week. The only thing that was missing was a crappy stadium like the old Dawg Pound, weather and real grass. Ben Roethlisberger is my quarterback. I... Sign in to see full entry.

WHEEEEEEEEEW!

Micheal Corleone liked to say, "Everytime I try to get out, they pull me back in." How.....in the hell......did the Stillers.....win that game? Of course it was defense. I was steamed for most of the showdown with Dallas. Skipped almost the whole third quarter. But a wise woman(LADYCHARDONNAY) once... Sign in to see full entry.

THE TIME IS NOW!

Tomorrow is December first. We are in week 13 of the NFL season. No more bye weeks. Everyone plays every week. The time for teams to make their playoff runs is NOW! Last Thursday, the Titans did nothing to make one think they will not have home field advantage in the AFC as they clobbered the... Sign in to see full entry.

A GOOD DAY FOR A NAP

Donovan McNabb was benched today as the Iggles got crushed by the Ravens in Baltimore, 36-7. The score was only 12-7 when he was taken out of the game. I would not have made the move. It's not McNabb's fault that the Eagles can't run the ball. Their offense played right into Baltimore's hands. And... Sign in to see full entry.

#@*%&*#! STEELERS!

They drive me nuts, but I love 'em. Today they won the first 11-10 game in NFL history which is good for those who had Chargers and five. Though Troy Palamaulo scored on the last play to make it 17-10 and cover for Pittsburgh until refs said illegal forward pass by San Diego and TD was nullified.... Sign in to see full entry.

AND I QUOTE

We will use a few football quotes as lead ins to our game summaries this week: "Don't bother reading it kid. Everyone dies in the end." Former Dallas Cowboy receiver and author of "North Dallas Forty" Peter Gent said this to a Cowboy rookie. He could have been talking about the St. Louis Rams who... Sign in to see full entry.

Some 'splainin' To Do

I call the Steelers the Stillers every now and then. Just like I call the Red Sox the Sawx, the Rams the Lammies, the Giants the Jints, the Eagles the Iggles, etc. I say it with affection and never write it unless I've seen or heard it somewhere else. As for Stillers, I first saw it in a book by Roy... Sign in to see full entry.

BLOODY GOOD SHOW!

The NFL made its now annual trek to jolly old England with the Saints giving up a home game by playing the Chargers in London. Last year, the Dolphins and Giants played on a slippery track in the rain with New York winning a low scoring affair. So the league decided enough of this field goal jazz....
