Many times during the hour and a half PBS National Memorial Day Concert at the Washington Monument Mall at the White House, I heard sniffles from Son #1 even as tears came to my eyes. I Don't Cook Much Anymore
I slow cooked a beef brisket for Memorial Day celebration eatings, and then I looked around for the Gates BBQ sauce (made in KC) for dousing the sandwiches. But, I couldn't find any--not even a partial. Someone had cleaned it out and forgot to tell me that we needed more. Not about to make a trip...
