an alternative universe

I've set up an alternative site for myself ( http://cid-7457a21fb9840f5e.spaces.live.com/?lc=3081 ) - I was just playing around to begin with but then discovered that all sorts of elements can be brought together on the one page (like having a stream of photo images happening alongside a blog... a bitter after taste

It was a smart move making today, Friday, a public holiday in Sydney and I mean smart in its most insidious and manipulative sense. Vast numbers of people have predictably left the city and the central business district is close to being a ghost town. There's fewer people and the place is therefore... Sign in to see full entry.

the end of the world?

It's been a wierd week. I found myself sitting at my desk imagining turning around and finding my now ex-girlfriend was about to walk in with the usual smile to which I would reply with the usual daggy exuberance. But it was just imaging. One of the worst things about breaking up is the way... Sign in to see full entry.

ridiculous

After work I walked into the city. I don't think I've seen so many police in all my life. There were more police hanging around the city than regular citizens. The big picturesque harbor side part of the city is now fenced off so Bush et al have it all to themselves. The poor buggers trying to run... Sign in to see full entry.

welcome to fortress sydney

Yesterday significant sections of the Sydney city waterfront, including the Opera House, were cut off from the rest of the city through the construction of a huge reinforced fence. A new water canon truck and prison buses have been bought. Extra space has been cleared out in the prisons and police... Sign in to see full entry.

the way things are

It's strange when you find yourself in a place where you replay a moment but each time you inject different emotional content into what happened. In the real moment I was the understanding guy, forgiving and reassuring as she sobbingly proceeded to break my heart. Her tears and apparent sorrow was... Sign in to see full entry.

trying to find a way forward

Lot of stuff going on in my head mainly along the lines of what to do now. I feel like I'm walking around with my heart cut out of my chest. A thousand and one things to talk over with someone who's no longer there. Getting out of Sydney seems to be a common theme of my thinking: relocate and make a... Sign in to see full entry.

music helps

Have been downloading music. Music helps. Actually I should write up a list of my better discoveries. I spent a while with Sinead O'Connor. I can sing the song really well (with a few appropriate lyrical changes to make it appropriate for a guy). I thought about shaving my head but it's still... Sign in to see full entry.

stopping by for a moment

I wasn't going to post for a while on account of my heart being recently broken and I've never fancied posting the intimate details of my personal life in this blog. I've taken a week off work, wandered around a city which at this moment is just a small and loathsome proposition to me, fought cold... Sign in to see full entry.
