Tiny Yellow Butterflies

Tiny Yellow Butterflies Today as I was cutting grass A tiny yellow butterfly Into my path I could not pass Flew right in front of my loving eyes So I just had to stop and ask How did you find your way to here? So little how do you make it Do you like it this time of year? Oh, me too I must admit Today you've brought me so much cheer How does one so small find a mate This thought happened to cross my mind Not so long did I have to wait One just like her came right on time I thought to myself,... Walk In Peace (terza rima sonnet)

Walk In Peace (terza rima sonnet) Today I walk in peace, to the woods alone I have so many friends, that live there always The dew still lingers, peace like I've never known There's the big beech tree, where squirrels often play So beautiful, so stately, with bark divine I have thought often, here I would want my grave I can not bring myself to call this place mine My maker's hand prints are all over this place Every where I look, His sweet presence I find Sometimes I see the deer, but today no... Waking This Morning

Waking This Morning He was up before I awoke The sky was quiet as He spoke He took the moon, put it away Right before the new morning broke Now I have this glorious day It's surely one that he has made Let me rejoice and be so glad As the birds lovely song is played And He kissed my cheek, I might add As earth with sweet sunshine was clad Blessed, He thinks of me as His child His gifts are like none ever had The morning breeze sweeps thru so mild On my knees this morn, seen Him smile I think... A Stranger

A Stranger My joy is gone, Of walking God's green earth. Of all the sorrows, Methink it must be worst. Much beauty to see, But sad are my eyes. Much sound abounds, But I am deaf, but for the sighs. Many places to go, But I stay right here. Much to learn, But my mind is not clear. I am just a stranger, Now just passing thru. Often wondered what that meant, Methinks that it must be true. Homesick for a land, That I have never known. My spirit has control now, That's where it must go. Nothing for... Sign in to see full entry.

The War

The War It has now been 43 years Since I left that war, wow Never thought much about it At least not, up till now I thought of myself as a missionary More than a soldier of war Oh, how I loved the little children So sweet and so very poor I wonder if any I befriended Are still alive today I wonder if any remember me If they talked of me what did they say I remember their smiley faces Tho their tummys were empty as could be I remember giving them my c-rations It seemed they deserved them more...
