My Sermon: Who does Jesus say we are?

My Sermon: Who does Jesus say we are? Salt and Light! We are the light of the World. We are the salt of the Earth. Salt in the Bible – Salt sources in Ancient Israel[ edit ] The main source of salt in the region was the area of the Dead Sea, especially the massive, about seven miles long, salt cliffs of Jebel Usdum. [1] The face of the ridge is constantly changing as weather interacts with the rock salt. Ezekiel 47:11 highlights the importance of the Dead Sea’s salt. [2] The Hebrew people... The Iraq Solution © 2006 Noospherecomm

The Iraq Solution © 2006 Noospherecomm Introduction: What this Country Needs is a Gentle Revolution of the Heart Our government needs our help. It is lost in a quagmire of its own sophistication. The weight of its own web is blinding our leaders to obvious and simple Truth. We call ourselves a Christian Nation, but we operate with the vision and tools of Mammon. The Bible says you cannot serve both God and Mammon at the same time. It is time to choose, America. Whom will you serve? As for me and... Sign in to see full entry.

The Christian Preacher Calls our youth to war

Two days ago, I walked out of the library at the University of Missouri, Columbia. In front of the library there is an area called 'The Speaker's Circle'. Sitting there, on a folding chair, was a preacher talking to a small group of students that had gathered to debate with him. As I walked by, I heard him say, "You young people ought to be joining the military and killing Jihadists!" I continued on, but was led to turn back. I walked up behind him, leaned over and whispered into his ear, "Your... Sign in to see full entry.

Teach Me to Pray

Teach Me to Pray Teach Me to Pray My Lord, I know not what I ought to ask of Thee. Thou and Thou alone knowest my needs. Thou lovest me more than I am able to love Thee. O Father, grant unto me, Thy servant, all which I cannot ask. For a cross I dare not ask, nor for consolation; I dare only to stand in Thy presence. My heart is open to Thee. Thou seest my needs of which I myself am unaware. Behold and lift me up! In Thy presence I stand, awed and silenced by Thy will and Thy judgments, into... Sign in to see full entry.

Some Buddhist Wisdom - 082806

Right meditation is not escapism; it is not meant to provide hiding-places for temporary oblivion. Realistic meditation has the purpose of training the mind to face, to understand and to conquer this very world in which we live. -Nyanaponika Thera, "Power of Minfulness" From "365 Buddha: Daily Meditations," edited by Jeff Schmidt. Reprinted by arrangement with Tarcher/Putnam, a division of Penguin Putnam Inc. Commentary: Mind rest, mind management, mind service; these are the benefits of... Sign in to see full entry.

War Just Died One Day

They held a war this week, And nobody came. The warriors all stayed home. "It's not our fight," they said. "We have families to attend." Let the Rich Let the Generals, The Presidents and the Kings Go fight their own battles. If freedom belongs only To the baddest bully on the block, Then let the bullies wage their fight To see who 's the baddest one of all. "We are too busy living To fight your holy wars. Join us, won't you; This peace feels good. © 2006 Shamsujim§ Sign in to see full entry.

Some Buddhist Wisdom

Whether we sit with our arms folded this way and our legs crossed that way is of little consequence. But it is extremely important to check and see if whatever meditation we do is an actual remedy for our suffering. -Lama Thubten Yeshe, "Wisdom Energy" Copyright Wisdom Publications 2001. Hindu Wisdom

No "I," No "mine." He knows there is nothing. All his inner desires have melted away. Whatever he does, He does nothing. His mind has stopped working! It has simply melted away... And with it, Dreams and delusions and dullness. And for what he has become, There is no name. -Ashtavakra Gita 17:19-20 From "The Heart of Awareness: A Translation of the Ashtavakra Gita," by Thomas Byrom, 1990.
