A reminder about privacy concerns

This is something I know I've mentioned in the past month or two, but it bears repeating given the material I just posted a moment or two ago. HIPAA - the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (thank you, Editormum!) - guarantees that our medical records are to remain private except... Sign in to see full entry.

A while ago...

A while ago, back before I started posting to this blog regularly again, I'd mentioned something I'd read on my former partner's site. Turns out I'd gotten the material "right" in the sense that it truly was aimed at me - apparently, the man is trying to get me to behave just like him, in the hope... Sign in to see full entry.

"That's easy for YOU to say"

That's what a lot of us who have been through emotional abuse have said. I don't recall ever having said it myself, but that's just it - I don't recall. My memory for such things is spotty. I still wish - now, more than ever - that I could galvanize a group (even if only a small one) to get my... Sign in to see full entry.

I think I've about had it

My informant, in the belief that I didn't already have enough problems (see the blog The Secret Life of Cats for a little more information), sent me something from my former partner designed to raise my blood pressure to stroke-inducing levels. I will not reprint my former partner's raving here. I... Sign in to see full entry.

The heart of the matter, for me at least

The heart of my last few posts is this. I've been going on and on about child sexual abuse and pedophilia, and how those who have these proclivities believe that they are a poor, persecuted minority who just need more understanding. In fact, this has been my pet example of behavior that ought to... Sign in to see full entry.

For those of you who haven't really been paying attention lately...

Editormum jogged my memory the other day as to why I've been doing this blog. The big reason I got back to doing it was that there really is some behavior that is absolutely wrong. For many years, we as a society have been gradually getting to a point where we think that just about everything is... Sign in to see full entry.

It's easy to become desensitized

When you see as much on the Internet about abuse as I have the past few days, it really is easy to become desensitized to the pain abuse causes victims. I speak of some of the sites I visited yesterday, in my research about pedophilia on the Internet. It's difficult even to speak of this matter... Sign in to see full entry.

Yes, Virginia, there really is...

a pro-pedophilia movement out there in Real World Land. I was on some pro-pedophilia websites just a few minutes ago, as a matter of fact. Frankly, I have a headache from having visited some of them. To hear these guys (and gals!) talk, they are a persecuted minority. In fact, to hear them talk,... Sign in to see full entry.

Just as I run out of ideas...

There has been a new (actually, several days old) development in the Jackson case. It turns out that prior to the alleged victim's confessions in therapy, California's child-protection agency, the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), had already investigated the allegations and found... Another one of those days

In a way, this blog has been very therapeutic for me. For those who have been through therapy, if the therapist is any good and the relationship works, you'll know by the amount of time you spend upset at the therapist. Sometimes he or she hits a nerve, and you get very POed at the therapist. That's... Sign in to see full entry.

About this Blog
The name of the post is derived from a Francis Schaeffer book, and intended to rebut something I'd seen on the Internet. The blog itself is about what I've learned about relationships from the ones I've had, and the ones I've observed. It will not be pleasant to read, and might wander off-topic occasionally, but is intended to be a long-term blog reading like a public journal.
