Chicago Style Hot Dogs

We first ate Chicago style hot dogs in Longmont, Colorado. A couple of guys from Chicago opened up a hot dog restaurant in Boulder during the late sixties. Then in the eighties they opened up another one in Longmont, Colorado. We later had them in Fort Wayne, Indiana before we went to Chicago and... Sign in to see full entry.

Another easy and delicious meal.

I love beans. So I made a stew with breakfast sausage fried and broken up, one pint of fresh pico de gallo ( a type of salsa, a can each of green beans, kidney beans, creamed corn, topped with corn bread mix and cheese. I heated up the meat, vegetables and pico de gallo, then I put the corn bread... Sign in to see full entry.

What do you do with hamburger?

Today I defrosted hamburger and didn't know what to do with it. So I looked online and found a recipe with rice, hamburger onions and mushroom soup. I sent friends to the store for soup, but I someone needed a ride quick, so I improvised. I added soy sauce, brocoli. and loads of oyster sauce. It... Sign in to see full entry.

Steak from the Outback

Last night Lance took us out for steak at the Outback. Lance and I had prime rib, and my husband had BBQ ribs and chicken. I wasn't very hungry since I also went out for lunch. But this morning I have leftover prime rib which is cold and delicious. We had a lovely dinner and had fun watching the... Sign in to see full entry.

Popcorn for breakfast anyone.

I love popcorn. It would be the perfect diet food, except for one thing--the blandness. Which means it needs butter. Popcorn is very easy to make even without modern conveniences. I made it in a pan with oil. I put in one or two kernals in the oil. After the two kernals pop, then I put in the rest... Sign in to see full entry.

The best day to eat it, is the day you come home from the supermarket. So if you have to shop after work, bring home some fish, make rice in... Sign in to see full entry.

Bread machine or homemade

Bread making is very time consuming, but nothing tastes better than home made bread. Thus someone invented the bread machine. You put the bread ingredients at night and in the morning you have fresh baked bread. Well bread machines aren't as easy as they look at they don't produce such delicious... Steak is fast and easy,

It cooks very well in the broiler or in a George Forman grill. But even in a frying pan, it is easy to cook. If you like it rare, cook it on both sides until it is nicely browned. For medium do the same, but then just cook it until it looks pink. For well done, cook it on both sides until browned,... Sign in to see full entry.

I would like to invent

another salad dressing. Ranch is getting boring and bleu cheese can be too rich. My present idea which I haven't tested is to take spinach, cilantro, olive oil, green onions, garlic, olive oil, rice wine vinegar and water and blend them in the blender. I might add some sour cream too. I'll make some... Sign in to see full entry.
