Jumping Rope

I was terrible at jumping rope as a child. I was very uncoordiated. I didn't learn how to jump over the rope at all until I was in second grade. I rarely even tried to jump the big rope that two girls would swing. But to this day, I remember the cold day went in from recess and told my teacher than... Sign in to see full entry.

Another Red Dress

My first Christmas sober, i had to make the point that even though I was sober, I wasn't boring. So for Christmas, i bought myself a red dress and matching red suede boots. I also bought a tan leather coat. I must say that I was a knockout. Sign in to see full entry.

I remember when I was thin.

I could wear almost any style there was because I had the figure that designers designed for, straight and thin. I loved clothes then. Now, it is hard to find clothing that looks good. Wastes aren't met to be curved outwards. My favorite dress was a red mini dress I made myself. It was made from... Sign in to see full entry.

Living Alone

The first time I lived alone, I had my son with me. He was just two. It was very hard. I moved into a dusty apartment and my allergies bothered me the whole time. I had very odd and ugly furniture. For a couch, I had a genuine loveseat, the back seat of my dad's oldsmobile on wheels. It wasn't very... Sign in to see full entry.

Plum pudding--stuff of fairy tales.

Once i bought a special pan and tried to make plum pudding. It didn't turn out. The Brits have Christmas pudding, and Christmas cake. Both of them taste the same to me. Our family hates both of them. I love fruit cake if its a rum cake with mostly nuts and dried fruit and no candied fruit. It's... Sign in to see full entry.

The Magi

I've always wondered who the Magi were, how they knew that the star belonged to Jesus, etc. We always think there were three because of their three gifts. But we don't know. What puzzled me is why the religious leaders when they heard the magi inquiring as to where the king would be born, didn't go... Sign in to see full entry.

My favorite Christmas gift

One year my mother was always crocheting. Whenever I asked her what she was making, she would reply, "Cat for to make kitten britches, want to buy a pair?" It made no sense, but that was the intention. Then Christmas morning I unwapped a present with lovely hand crocheted doll clothes for my fashion... Sign in to see full entry.

Until recently

I hated holidays. I would become depressed and would have to deal with my feelings while I celebrated the holidays for my husband and children. My childhood was full of disappointments and holidays were the worst. My mother tried hard. She would sew me a Christmas dress and my doll a matching dress... Sign in to see full entry.

I barely remember this,

but I do remember putting doll clothes on a kitten. When I was about four, I played with a neighbor's kitten.I put it in the doll buggy and pushed it around. It was my living baby doll. I wouldn't put it down and it finally peed on me. My mother said that we got a cat for the first time because I... Sign in to see full entry.

My mother's black and white Mexican jacket.

My mother owned a Mexican jacket, that was black with white embroidery around the edges. It had white felt figures of Mexican themes that were sewn with black yarn. Mom didn't wear it much so it was in good shape. When I was nineteen in the hippie days, I took it from her. I loved that jacket. I... Sign in to see full entry.
