The Rainbow

On the bleakest of winter days When skin is scoured by the bitter winds That howl and wail and blow Needles of the frozen night, A magic moment captures my gaze As against the savage sky is pinned The coloured laughter of a rainbow Painting happiness in inks of light And wonder on a page of air....
