Re: Sam444
thank you, sweetie.  You found the ending sad?  I had hoped for it to be uplifting after the sadness of the earlier poem...

Re: TAPS
It is only temporary, and usually not so bleak as it first seems... but I am never able to maintain a grim outlook for long

I adored the rainbow's smile! This is just excellent imagery and of course I loved the word placement! The end was a bit sad, but still a fine poem! sam

I like to remember that bleak is only temporary.
Even here, you did not allow it to remain long, not even to the end of the poem.
That's good.

Oh my gawd Neil... this poem is so fabulous I am speechless !!!  Your  vision  of a rainbow amidsts the desolation of a winter sky melts  my heart :-)  That is the beauty of this season sweetie,  the contrasts Nature offers us... like a cardinal sitting, its plumage all warm, red and brilliant,  on the ice covered branch of a naked tree... or the green spot a frost forgotten blade of grass offers, flapping to the wind, in the center of a snow blanketed meadow.  Gorgeous poem Neil... xoxoxoxo
