HOW SUBTLE IS THE ECONOMIC LANGUAGE

I bought groceries yesterday. I also bought gas. The gas was down forty some cents since I last filled the tank, made some difference. I don't hear people doing much complaining about the price of gas now because the media is not saying anything. But for months I have not seen them complaining about grocery prices as they steadily rose.
