I like oatmeal. But recently, ordering oatmeal in a restaurant, it became clear why some people despise the stuff, find it disgusting and inedible. It was slimy, it was beyond slimy. That overwhelmed any flavor or other quality. It was more like glue than food. At home, I make quick, not instant, oatmeal, and it is steel-cut rather than rolled oats. I add things like dried fruit--not always raisins! And, today for instance, I added apple cider to the water, and some cinnamon. Often, I throw in... Sign in
