Weighing In

I am tired of my weight going in one direction. I have by practice exercised on my days off from work (my work being an exercise in itself). Yet I am not consistent, especially when it comes to using my apartment complex gym. More incentive would be a big plus. Consequently, my weight never seems to... Sign in to see full entry.

The Smokers' Hovel Making Its Mark Across A Diverse Culture

When I came to visit a friend at the nursing home today, I was told to look outside. Sure enough, she was under a hovel, a smokers' hovel. My work site has a smokers' hovel also, but I do not recall seeing any such hovel until after my state passed a law making it illegal to smoke within twenty feet... Sign in to see full entry.

The Paterno Shortfall--Moral Integrity

Long before the Jerry Sandusky scandal broke, I used to regard Coach Joe Paterno admirably. Now I cannot blame the university for taking down his sculpture. In football, there were universities whose sole purpose was to field a national contention level team. They took shortcuts on some player's... Sign in to see full entry.

The Divisiveness Of Liberals

The liberals claim they stand for equality and justice, but they actually stand for divisiveness. They hyphenate to death various ethnic or racial groups of Americans. When they do this, they stir the pot of envy and divisiveness. They do not regard the humanity of people; they manipulate people... Sign in to see full entry.

I Hate Working In the Low Clearance Areas

I tend to get knocked on the head every time I work in a certain air at work. This morning I was assigned to an area that has a mezzanine with equipment hanging and supported above the mezzanine. There are low hanging beams in that area with a caution strip to warn workers to duck to get past it.... Sign in to see full entry.

A Recent Food Study--On Soy Milk--May Give Me Pause

I heard and read in the news that soy milk may be bad for your teeth. Bacteria found in the mouth, according to studies, may be six times more acidic when coming in contact with soy milk as opposed to cow's milk. Over the last several years, I have been drinking soy milk (vanilla flavor), but this... Sign in to see full entry.

The Resemblance Of Siblings

More than once have I been introduced to one person and his or her sibling and concluded that they are twins. This was the case today when i was talking to two temporary workers who are sisters to each other. One had glasses; one did not. But they looked a lot a like. I asked if they were twins--for... A Sustainability Incentive

$1,000 as opposed to $100? That is the difference between incentive programs at my work, one for energy efficiency coming to work and the other for getting fit. My company leans green but also values the human commodity, i.e. the health of we employees. I have taken part in the Get Fit program,... Sign in to see full entry.

Friendship Or Love?

With no current romantic ties, I have been in a mode of quiet pondering for quite some time. I have debated in my mind about the lady at church. I have seen her at church for several years, probably five or more. My initial thought has been that she is too old for me. But then I was thinking that... Sign in to see full entry.
