Do Iraqis have the brain capacity for democracy?

One wonders whether Democracy can actually flower in certain parts of the world? Can certain regions take in a healthy dose of Jefforsonian freedom and change their ways? I think to some extent that there is a genetic effect to social organizations. American's have had democracy now for several... Sign in to see full entry.

Why is fuel economy at a plateau?

I just took a look at a graph of the fuel economy standards for the last 30 years. It seems that a lot of its been holding steady at around 20mpg. What's even more shocking is the fact that it never went beyond 22mpg back in 1987! I can remember the magazine ads of the eighties that circled fuel... Sign in to see full entry.

The blondes were defeated by a puerto rican!

Hey, I have to admit that I like Latin women, especially puerto rican chicas! They don't speak english well enough to have a 5 min conversation but man, do they look smoking! I was mildly surprised that Miss Puerto Rico won the miss Universe pagent. I just saw the last 5 mins of the show but was... Sign in to see full entry.

Does a lack of friends mean your unfriendly?

What exactly is the word loner implying? There are websites devoted to hermitry and a few books on the subject. But the connotation of that word has been generally a negative one. Images of Ted Kazinski or some other sociopath fling to the mind. Then theres scenes of violence or stalking or some... Sign in to see full entry.

Is Religion the outward subtle masterbation of the Id?

I was watching a documentary today on the Mormans. That group is well orgranized and a powerfull influence over the folks in Utah, especially Salt Lake City. What the documentary emphasized was the growing resistance to the leaders of the church, especially the way the church controls the local... Sign in to see full entry.

What percentage of illegals are crimminals?

That is a statistic that I would love to find out. Looking at the crime that exists in and around New York or Boston or a major city, one would think its out of control. Recently though, crime has been going down quite a bit. A lot of it has to do with the economy, some of it with the ageing... Sign in to see full entry.

I'm getting even angrier at Illegals

I've come to the (partially) justified conclusion that Illegal Aliens are not good for America. I'm a legal immigrant and a citizen to this great land. I know first hand how "different" that one becomes when he is identified with a totally strange culture. But that doesn't excuse the millions of... Sign in to see full entry.

It's soggy, wet, dripping..and its raining too

It’s been raining for the last 7 days here in New England. Its terrible folks; The streets are now becoming flooded and the rain in now saturating the ground. What’s even worse is the psychological effect that all the rain is causing here in the Bay State. I can’t say about other people, but for my... Sign in to see full entry.

Society in shambles

What is the world coming to my friends? We are living in an age when there is no such thing as redemption or social grace. When you make a mistake and then have to pay for it with your career if not your blood. Our values are strained and the sense of "rightness" for doing what needs to be done is... We are getting closer to being nuts!

The psychiatric profession is one that is constantly made fun of and not given the proper respect by society. We live in a time of ongoing crises and a future of bunker-busting patients with mental health problems in our society. The insurance companies have recently come to understand this...
