It wouldn't matter where you go, Kabu. You would always end up being a grandmother to someone who needs it. That's just the way you are, and it's nice to hear that your housemate is in the same mould. Loved this post.

It sounds like you got yourself some new family there, Kabu. Wonderful.

Lovely way to start the new year. I hope they'll live happily ever after,

and he does find the cure.

I think you both are having a new lease of life. New experiences, it can't be bad.

That is the trouble with large houses it is expensive to keep them warm. Although my sister lives in a standard bungalow and she says the cold air comes up through the floor boards. I keep telling her to move, but you know what they are.

Good Morning

Kabu, this does sound like a lovely day.  I personally think that freshly fallen snow is beautiful during the day and at night when all is calm.  It's so nice that you have taken the newlyweds into the fold of your family and I do believe you will have many years of love to share with this couple so far from their home.  I'm sure the food was delicious.  I went to an Indian wedding quite a while ago and I remember the food was all very hot.  I'm not sure what spices they use but even the salad was hot.  I remember that servers brought out pitchers of ice water for each table.  The groom was my son's dear friend from school and they have remained close through the years.  The women were dressed in the most beautiful clothes.  They were colorful and elegant.  Stay warm during this cold spell.  We still don't have snow but we may get some soon.  This is very unusual for us.

How I love this post! All filled with happiness and cheer. You, meeting a new "grandchild;" a wedding brimming with joy and goodwill, and a brilliant young man who I hope with all my heart does succeed in his quest to find a cure for Leukemia. I have lost several relatives to versions of that disease. Thank you for such an uplifting post.
