Not good to be without power. They are faster at restoring than they are in St. Louis.

Oh, no. Thankfully, if it was going to happen, it happened before the dead of winter.

I got one for my whole house for under $500.  You can't turn on everything in the house.  but the fridge, stove  TV and a few lights works just fine!

That is the absolute worst, especially when it is cold.

We don't have many power bumps, but when we do they are only for a few hours. I would not do well if it happened at night and I was all alone. Surprisingly, I am a big scaredy-cat. I am happy to hear that all is well for you once again.

Generators aren't that expensive...

And now you're behind on the house cleaning!

Pat_B, I was thinking about the same thing.  A generator would be a great investment.  I wish I had one.  I've been wanting one for a long time. We do have a fireplace with a blower for those days when it -39 degrees outside and I think Canada gets much colder than us.

I'm wondering if you might want to think about investing in a

generator as a backup in case your power goes out again and you're blocked in by snow... Or, do you have a wood-burning stove or fireplace? Out in Washington and Oregon people always had that kind of back-up heat source because in the forest areas there are trees that blow down, power outages were pretty common..

Kabu

There's a lot of road construction here. It detours the bus, away from the bus stop.

Oh what a shame. As if you didn’t have enough stuff in your life going on right now! Poor Wiley wondering about the phone. I’m glad it’s fixed now. I’m sorry you had go through that. Glad you got rested up though, but what a price to pay.

That is always such a drag when power goes out for any readon.  That was a long outage.  I'm so glad you got it back.

Re:

Thank you dear. I may stay up later than usual because of all the rest today. Yes the one thing that Wiley doesn't forget is our love we share.

Kabu, Oh my!  I'm so sorry you had to go through this.  It does sound like you and Mr. Graysome were content with candles and a nice soft bed with lots of covers and pillows.  I did think it was so cute that Wiley kept trying to call you!  God Bless him! He loves you so!!!  I did wonder if your power went out would your furnace work and now I know.  That could be very dangerous in the middle of winter.  I'm so glad that your house is back up and running.  One time our whole city lost power for three days.  It was terrible but it was in the warmer months but I think the worst thing of all was that we had no coffee and there was no where to get any because everywhere was closed because of the power outage. I do hope you have a good night!
