The years are passed where I mostly read escape fiction--sci fi and fantasy mostly. I still have a few go-to books that are fiction, like Margery Allingham's CAMPION mysteries, and Ellis Peters' CADFAEL. Both of those serial characters were made into limited shows on PBS, which I also still enjoy watching from time to time. PRIDE AND PREJUDICE is another, for the sake of the clever writing and the romance.
But I also find myself more into history, both in reading and tv watching, the older I get. The books just have to be not too large, or I could get hurt when reading myself to sleep at night, and drop the book on my head.

All that cold weather makes it good days to stay inside...It's been a while since I have read a book. I have to do that.

Stay cozy - spring is coming in 6-8 weeks... Hang in there.
As for Winston Churchill, he toured the US at one point and gave his famous "Iron Curtain" speech in Missouri - there's a mention of it every so often. I think he gave heart to those Brits and others who were so war-weary and beginning to lose hope. I think of his image, a large guy with a big cigar, and wonder what he'd talk about if we could sit down over a cup of coffee, or a nice scotch on the rocks.

You two, uh, three, stay warm and cozy in there. Reading is a good pastime when it’s so cold out. Just be safe.
