I made myself watch "A Christmas Carol" and Bah-Humbug himself with his transformation after being haunted, Wed with a chill breeze going over me for effects of winter in England..  It was the George C. Scott version, a good one.

Is that a big wooden cross that's hidden behind all those nicelings?

I wish you the joy of the season--

While the commercial madness roils around you, the sadness for the loss of meaning, the growth of shallow pleasures that overtake the world, the forgetfulness of the sacred and divine... Know that you are not actually alone in knowing what it's all about, in turning the back on all the nonsense and hysteria...  Amidst all the noise, some of us still quietly celebrate.

Kabuiepie-;)

Love your pictures and the decorating for Christmas you did love, all is well with the weather, at least the driveway isn't piled in snow yet.

Kabu, did you know that they have medical lights just for folks who get depressed in the winter time...I hear they sell a lot of them in Seattle because of the rain...Loved your corner and the TV fire. God Bless.

Kabu...

It has been mostly sunny here for over a week, nice out by noon or so, but dark at 5:00.  The gray cat likes to lie in front of the real fire and sometimes I lay there too with my back to the warmth.  If only the floor weren't so hard!

Weather-wise we have recently gotten a couple of gloomy December days. It looks like snow though is on its way.

Kabu, the sun does set so early now its almost scary...

It starts to get dark around 4 and by 5p.m. its pitch dark....our little table-sized tree does brighten things up, though...and I'm sure we have that same musical "Yule Log" to put on our system...our block actually has a lot of light displays on it compared to the neighbouring streets....

I think you will find it is a job to keep this jolly ho ho stuff up Kabu I don't start until  Boxing day as a rule . Nethertheless I enjoy your cosy outlook well in-look You do seem to have the knack to cosy up a corner. Thank you for your advice and don't let Wiley get out in the cold, we have not heard much about your door for the garage, but I suppose it will; have to be measured. I must try and go shopping tomorrow Arthur says I am no longer infectious.

I like those little artificial (battery-operated) candles

because the twinkling is so cheerful. Also have put up a small Christmas tree, and it is very cheery on these gloomy December days. My son in Seattle gets Seasonal Affective Disorder every winter -- used to have a light box with full-spectrum bulbs to extend the daylight hours, and takes anti-depressants. I think that's why so many retired folks head for Florida every winter.

Cute Christmas corner.  I love to examine closer odds and ends of family collections.
