I'm not sure what era I belong to --- born in 55 - I think along the lines of making fairy chains along with daisey chains and well, flower power etc.  I do wonder and worry even at times over the next generation and those to follow.  Funny I was just talking with my eldest daughter, Maeg, the other day and she said some interesting thoughts on the way they bring or rear my Grandchildren, AnnaB included and how wouldn't it be funny if they were to become the most conservative of all generations...for a long while I thought on that  and then I quit thinking because life is so up and down and so fast these days that I will just hope and pray and you know Kabuski, I was thinking about how the elderly are left to fend for their own these days and I'm sorta not minding that more and more watching this next generation ...  I mean I think there's been a big change.  I hope DMan and I stay and stick this out together and when our time comes to don the grey sweater and rocking chair - well I hope we're chained together by our hips cause the vulnerability is too real for me. I got his and he has mine and our backs are supportive of one another -   - when we move over, we'll do it tandem.  LOL ~ Good thoughts here and that Chipper Chipmunk has Spunk and I admire his survival and desire to eat those nuts and grains.  Connie Elyse xoxoxo love's y'all.

Ron is a Boomer & I'm an Xer. He's 15 years older than I am. It's my generation that came from the self-indulgent 80's. There's good & bad from each generation. Boomers are much more involved & active than previous generations. They've set a good example for not shriveling up & blowing away. As long as we have our minds, anything is possible.

I was born in 1960
but according to the Woodstock Generation I can remember the '60s so probably wasn't really there!

you're probably right, but I wonder how much credit they will want to take for modern culture when the younger generation (equally spoilt, disinterested and consumer driven) start pushing them out of the way...

Re:
R.R., I did a quick lookup and found this:  1946 - 1964, give or take a year or two depending on the country you were born in.....(this is per Wikipedia)

I don't think I'm a boomer. I was born before the U.S. got into the war.
The attack on Pearl Harbor was on the radio constantly during my childhood. It seems to me I remember it, and Roosevelt's words about "a day that will live in infamy." Guess that makes me a fogey. Old farte. Sometimes I feel that way. Mostly not.  As for fame... after seeing what the famous do and say, I'm thinking they're welcome to my 15 minutes of it. Have a wonderful day in North Camelot, dear Kabu!  And Wiley too.

Its always been an uncertain world, yet today with internet, it has become more stressful as problems echo around the globe. I think this especially impacts baby boomers who worry what the future holds.

When did the Babyboomers start, then? I thought it was us lot born just after the war...

Great post, Kabu! The Babyboomers gave their offspring pretty easy lives in general - it's unfortunate that so many of those young 'uns have such short memories.

Its amazing what that generation accomplished... I am a late comer to them '55 or an early arrival to the next group, whatever they are called... but I do admire the resiliency and creativity of the ones deserving of that title like my husband... he was right smack in the middle of it all  loll  xoxoxo

I am not one either, and its the new generation that could take a few lessons from them

My Mother is a baby boomer
I think they might wipe out a big chunk of social security... leaving the rest of us with nothing or next to it, in later years.

I'm one of those crazy Baby-Boomers, too...:)

What a ride its been for us - I can remember when Kruschev took his shoe off in the United Nations and shouted "We will bury you!", referring to democracies, and those terrifying days of the Cuban missile crisis when it looked like someone would be burying somebody (thank God cooler heads prevailed)...

Now the Boomers are retiring or asking to work on past age 65...yes, we might have to move over a bit, but no one's going to push us into oblivion.....

We have been a real group to deal with. We brought about so much that was good in this world but I resent the young sprouts wanting to push us off the mountain. I am sorry your little chippy has fallen from grace. They are incredible here. Very good post.

It will be interesting to see what becomes of the Baby Boomers. What happens to this generation I believe will most certainly have a major impact on generations to come.
