RR, I believe you're right about that.
I just wish there was a two-way communication--It would help both of us, to dispell such baggage.

Re: TAPS, the funny thing is, the next day, re-reading the same thing
it may not seem so bad after all... Sometimes it is how mood pre-disposes us to self-judgement, or tolerance.

Re: This is sad ,,,,fly as high as you can,,,we all make mistakes and this

Kabu, it always rankles when people make assumptions in a judgemental direction, and shy off actually asking and finding out what is intended.

Re: Did I ever...

It can be hard for a writer to hit 'discard' but often, it's the wiser option.

Thanks to all of you, for your comments and encouragings here...

It must be added that the recipient may or may not have seen what I wrote.  This one doesn't respond, and doesn't read often or regularly or at all.  So there is not really much room to discuss or clarify or even to know if it's needed.

We are so often our own harshest critics. Maybe it wasn't all you. Maybe the recipient had a lot of baggage too, and used your letter as a coat hanger...

In answer to your first paragraph, I give a definite yes.  It definitely affords a deep sinking feeling when realization comes.

person could have asked you what you meant; checked out what is what given you a chance. I have been misunderstood here cultural ways of writing and almost always we have sorted it out.....this person owed you the benefit of the doubt. I think so anyway.

Sometimes we all need an inner 'refresh' button.

Did I ever...
To the point now where I occasionally write the letter, pour everything into and almost never press send.
