Some people are so thoughtless. It doesn't occur to them that they're being a right pain. Don't know any cure for laryngitis, but hope it's nearly gone by now and you can start to talk again.

Whacky
T Cell phones are turning people into robots. Today a passenger on our bus, talking on a cell phone stepped in front of it. The driver stopped short love. BC-A, Bill’s R®st

How rude! I used to get Laryngitis all the time, so I know how you feel. I know that lemon yogurt or water with lemon-warm water, that is, is good for a sore throat. Don't know if it would help in your situation though. Feel better soon! And remember, NO TALKING!

As a society...
We are addicted to mobile communication but for some reasong protest against cell towers in our own neighborhoods. Maybe that lady needed one of those Starbucks 30 oz cups, wake her up and keep her regular!
I like some of the teas they have that are for sore throats, hot green tea with a spoonful of honey and half a shot of whiskey, once a day is soothing too. I also gargle with 1 tsp of vinegar in a lukewarm 8 oz glass of water, it'll cut all that phlem and if your body chemistry is like mine, it works, alternated with the salt water gargle. The acids and bases screw with the environment of the germs is my theory.
