Kabu,
I've heard that saying before. However, it doesn't work for us here in the tropics of Florida. Sometimes I wish it did. BTW, love that pic!!

The good ole days are so appealing with the common sense phrases.  Prayers and wishes for good health. That is an adorable picture.

I had never heard that before; seems to hold true here a lot of times too..
Doing laundry is fun - only if I'm in the mood though, lol..
Well written memory, Dear Kabu; sorry to hear Wiley's angina is persisting. Take care, both of you.

Lovely picture, and happy memories. My mother used to say exactly the same, and I now trot it out from time to time, to the accompaniment of sighs from my offspring...

What a wonderful phrase
I think we might be able to adapt it for the UK  to increase the time frame...maybe "rain on the 7th gone by the 11th"

Dear Kabu - how I love your sharing of memories.  The tin roof (that is what I have in Fredericksburg and adore the sound of rain pelting all over it...lulls me to rest very well) --- Now I must admit seven and eleven is something I heard when my brother tossed dice...LOL (or something like that) but now I will always recall this memory - and will watch the weather for this.  I think it was like this near the beachside we'd stay near when I was younger.  Trust W/John is feeling a bit better from the spell of angina and Mr. Graysome --- the most handsome kitty in the world just simply makes me 'purrrr...' ~ Elyse

Ah well I have to be different Kabu I don't take any notice of the weather I leave the washing out until it dries out put it in a little blowy thing that does work eventually. The only problem putting it on the lines is the birds messing on the garments presumably as they fly around looking for food. House work isn't all beer and skittles.

I remember wash days and the dash to get the clothes in.
My ex hung a dead rattle snake on the clothesline after he had shot it so it could dry out and he wanted to make a belt.  I didn't know this as I took clothes out to hang up. Sreeeeaaaammmm and toss the clothes and ran back into the house.  Clothes didn't get hung out that day.

Kabu
What's Wiley doing with Mr. G., looking for fleas? Oh, and here the rain was gone by seven - good thing too, 'cause I hate taking the doggie out in the rain. It gives the house a certain aura the rest of the day...

Cute picture Kabu and I remember my mom chasing us to take in the clothes too :). Just too bad about that measly angina but you do a great job in looking after your rare gem.

Kabu, we finally got our rain out of here and the clouds, too,by

noon...some severe storms (again) late yesterday afternoon, but at least they were gone and all was quiet by bedtime....

Now, that is a very cute pic, indeed (who's chasing who?....)

I'm amazed at how fast any of our rains are evaporating on account of the heat...Things are very tough right now on our farmers in Maryland...A wonderful picture of the two of them.
