My new reality is the fragile resistance to return to the old reality

Been there.  Done that.  It is a struggle, but the outcome is priceless.  And always remember, you will forever have one true Friend even in your darkest moments. joab

It had to be very difficult! I would have the same fear, too! But as you say confront it and its power is lessened! I cannot believe all you have been through! Such an ordeal unlike any I have encountered! sam

Fear is natural, and it takes great courage and strength to overcome it. Thanks very much for your comment on my post. Nita.

When you face those fears is when half the battle is won Tzippy and you are a fighter. It takes a lot to get on to normalcy when you have sorrows at one end sometimes tipping the scales and throwing it off balance. Each time I read you I realise that you are truly an inspiration to me.

Fear can motivate or stop forward movement. Sometimes it does one or

the other in my life and sometimes it does both in the same moment.

Having my car rear ended this past month has me looking backwards lots, in the mirrors, for what??? I am not allowed to do that anymore.

Walking alone into scary tunnels crossing under railroad tracks into downtown,  has me whistling like in the King and I, walking faster than normal, pulling my suitcase full of art supplies and moving uphill non-stop. It has turned out to be really good exercise, and has calmed my fears a bit, to just GO, forward into the fear.......

Trauma is another story and it's harder to fight the fear of recurrance. But, it has to be done, so sooner rather than later is my philosophy, as I hate drawn out agonizing fear.

You describe it all so eloquently. And Anthony Robbins motivates many to just GO, even if it is just your baby steps.

Fears faced will disappear but not quite as magically as we hoped
and they can even comeback when we think they are overcome. You are so brave.

This is such a profund observation and so beautifully described. I think ti's true that fears disappear if we can face them, but perhaps most of us need a bit of help to do that.

Great stuff
I once heard someone say "You can't do anything if you're scared." I think part of me - not all of me - stopped worrying so much from that day forward.

Well, you learned a major secret about life.
Too bad it had to be the hardest of the hard lessons. But for today, you've beaten the odds. It's a day to celebrate. Let tomorrow take care of itself.

Tzippy!

i tried to read down to understand the situation better but i could not figure out how you got your injury. Hope you're feeling better physically and mentally. I was intrigued by the comment you left at my post, what are the battles that are not worth fighting?!!

Take care, dear!
