A Jean Sheppard story, right?
I used to read columns he wrot for car magazines. I like the character's names, Ralphies rival, Scut Fracas.
He writes sort of like Patrick McManus, now there are a buch of movies waitng to be made.

Actually I wanted a walking doll when I was ten. A little girl I knew had
one, almost as big as herself. My sister was at boarding school so I thought a walking doll I could play with.
I did get a walking doll for Christmas but it was a small one and had cost far too much money. (I still have it and it's really worth money now) Anyway I was never allowed to play with it because it was too good and I was n't really interested because it was too small.

When I was 16 I wanted a 1935 Ford Roadster that someone had
for sale for $50, but Mom said no way. Saw one just like it yesterday, they're still darn cute!

Oh my word, this movie is a tradition at my house! I have the vhs, dvd and last Christmas I got a copy of the book from my daughter! My kids were so young when they started watching it, we have been late to the table for Christmas dinner because we could not tear ourselves away and pause is a dirty word! I think it Fox network that has 24 hours of a Christmas Story and I have it on all day long too! lol sam

I wanted an electric train set, and got it! I even played with it for several years, adding things, and it grew fairly big; I lost interest when I discovered girls...

BB guns are dangerous! What I think I want is an island location.Good beaches, cool winds, hammocks, vegetables, coconuts and fruits, lots of fishes, huge lobsters and crabs.... these now appeal to me. I had all of this once...and they(?) killed my dreams!
