Now you have done it. You have gone and made me hungry. How much you pay to know who inherits Heaven?

Corbin - it is an acquired taste

I have read this post about 3 times now.......
and in spite of the delicious way everything is described and the marvelous way everything has been prepared....I just can't bring myself to entertaining the thought of eating lamb.....I had it a couple of times in the military and it was disgusting.

Now if they were pork chops....

Carl - EVOO is olive oil. I have figured out the sign is likely a piece of
Wobbly sloganeering from back when Socialists were much more mainstream.

Strat - pork roast sounds great. I got meatloaf going now. There were
three bands but the headliner was a band from my college days in M'boro.  They're called the Features and they rock.

Am I really that antique?
That I remember having mint jelly with lamb.  Then again my first gazillion memories of broccolli were with hollandaise sauce, my Sunday dinners growing up always started with fruit cup with sherbert on top, pancakes and waffles were Monday dinner not breakfast, while the full weekend breakfast was cantaloupe or sectioned orange or grapefruit, oatmeal or wheatena, eggs and bacon, but never any potatoes.

I have no idea what EVOO is. I am wracking my brain trying to think what it could be an acronym for.  Please, what is it?

As for the quote, it probably is "the meek", who are supposed to "inherit the earth" in the Beatitudes.  With the "laborers" disinheriting them in this realm, the quote gives them a more ethereal replacement.

Sounds pretty good. What band?
My beloved and I did a pork roast last night that rocked the earth. Collards from the garden and sweet potatoes rounded it out.

I've never tried to cook lamb chops -- I'll try this.

LOL Freeman!
Her perkiness makes me want to duct tape her and if I hear the work YUMMO ever again I am going to gag her!  As for hitting on her...well, she isn't exactly my type.

Bel - her perkiness wears me out. But if I saw her in a bar I'd hit on
her

OH you had to go and use a Rachel Ray phrase didn't you??
Joe_Love ruined her for me and now I just can't watch her anymore!

Dylan - I'm quite sure mint jelly is from back in the day. But then I
remember slightly older contemporaries of my grandparents also taking time out for tea (flavored with grape juice) every day.  My grandfather however was all about coffee call with his fellow WWII veterans around four o'clock every afternoon.

The mint jelly must be an old-school condiment. I can still taste it though last served at the home of an old-lady friend of my mother several years ago. Once in awhile I crave it for some reason. I don't remember liking it that much, but I guess since it was different and not awful it had some appeal.

But now I'm vegetarian. So much for that. Just have to have the jelly I guess.
