Your uncle is a numismatist and impressive with his collection of bills

They will get the free board and lodging but no freedom.

Oh, no, he didn't make these, Bel.

(At least, I don't think he did.)

The headline (jokingly) refers to one's ability to photo-copy the images for ill-gotten gain, if they so chose.

For real, Julia!

Tastes have, apparently, come a long way in the past 200 years.

Copies aren't worth the trouble.

posted by A-and-B on December 8, 2006 at 6:20 AM | link to this | reply

It's no big loss, Corbin ... the xerox copies weren't very convincing-looking, anyway.

Here we go again........
No, you know you'd have to spend it all on lawyers.....

And, just for your information......Secret Service agents came to a school here in Louisville, Ky yesterday and arrested 6 high school students for counterfeiting $20 bills......so that won't work either.

posted by Corbin_Dallas on December 8, 2006 at 5:15 AM | link to this | reply

That's very interesting, Corbin ...

And, would they have to have been obtained legally? Like, what if, just for example, the glass case they were sealed in had been broken into, somehow.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 8, 2006 at 5:10 AM | link to this | reply

With all of these, they would .....
actually be worth a lot more than their face value........

posted by Corbin_Dallas on December 8, 2006 at 5:05 AM | link to this | reply

Thank you so much, allyk.
And you'll have to get in line ... behind me.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 8, 2006 at 4:56 AM | link to this | reply

Pass me some of those bills!
Loved your post!

posted by allyk on December 8, 2006 at 4:54 AM | link to this | reply

You're welcome, and thank you, A + B.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 8, 2006 at 4:47 AM | link to this | reply

It would be interesting to see if a bank would actually cash it, Tanga ...
I suspect not ... considering that the bill was discontinued rather quickly, and never actually circulated among the public.

Thanks for sharing the money.

Sorry to read about your illness.

I would not mind a $100 000 note
at the moment

Yeah, that's why I didn't delete it, fourcats.

Okay, my last comment sounded really gross ...

posted by Mademoiselle on December 7, 2006 at 10:04 PM | link to this | reply

I agree totally, fourcats.
In fact, I used to carry a "2" around in my purse, and just take it out and smell it every once in a while.

.....dirty only BETWEEN the lines Mad Girl.....LOLOL......

i have a serious love for u.s. paper currency and i've never figured out
why exactly but suspect it has everything to do with the fonts, color and the smell.  u.s. money has a very particular odor about it.  it's probably due to the ink that's used.  and i really really like the color.  i would like to have a room painted that color, with cream trim.

posted by fourcats on December 7, 2006 at 9:57 PM | link to this | reply

It better not be something dirty, Moon.

Hey, Mysteria.

Thank you, TAPS ...

it's pretty rare that I do (quasi-)informational posts anymore, so it's nice to do one every now and then.

And, I really don't mind being sick, actually ... for obvious reasons.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 7, 2006 at 9:16 PM | link to this | reply

You'd have to ask my uncle, Whacky.
