Well, that would certainly explain why the gift shop didn't have it in stock then.

On Borneo:

We looked it up. Borneo is a land mass divided into Borneo Malaysia, Borneo Indonesia and Borneo Brunei Darussalam. You can get these 3 flags, bunch them and call them Borneo.

Thank you, star4you ...

And I hope you enjoyed your holiday as well.

Not sure, TAPS ... though I know it requires the burning of something.

Not quite sure how to respond, food4thought.

I never understood why Toy Man was accepted into the Legion of Doom, Mysteria.

He's so campy and swish. Plus, his super-power didn't even make any sense.

I'd like to work as a translator, Blanche ...

Though not professionally.

I thought I had seen one, mikea18 ...
But then I looked more closely, and it was for some sort of Jewish holiday.

Borneo isn't a country, A + B?

Well, what the hell is it then?

A city?

Mademoiselle, What is one supposed to do on United Nations Day because I don't think that I did it?

Oh, that UN...
I saw the headline, but it was upside-down and I thought it was NU day or something.  I thought maybe they were using the phonetic spelling of Gnu, so I rushed out and got every one happy Gnu Day cards, the clerk thought I was Gnuts, oh well, now when Gnu day rolls around, I'm ready.  Er, there is a Gnu day, right?

My friends and I,
I call us "The Super-Friends"--- we rock in most effective ways. Nice.  Bonjoir Madame

I don't have a very vivid memory of the United Nations building per se,

Mademoiselle, so much as the heated debate between the Baltic delegation I was with, over sovereignity. It seems that the Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian delegations took some minor exception to the Soviet Union's annexation under the pretext of being invited by their "official" (puppet) governments.  My Russian was insufficient to follow every nuance, but needless to say, it was quite exciting.

They do do some work, I'm sure.

Hallmark is slipping
I didn't see a single card for United Nations Day.

Thank you for the warm wish. Hope you had a good day yourself.

Borneo isn't an independent country. We know you're joking!

Actually, I think he's leaving (possibly already left) office, Troosha ...

But yeah, Annan was certainly no Boutros Boutros Gali.

I didn't know it was United Nations Day
Perhaps someone should tell the useless Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the U.N.

oops – was the my out loud voice?

Now, that's just silly.

Perhaps so, Smartdog. They may look all cute, and orange, and furry,

but Borneans are not to be trusted.

I learned that the hard way.

Nevada day is coming up!
That should be worth a party.  It's on the 31st but will be celebrated on the 27th this year.

Mad
Perhaps Borneo was harboring terrorists at the time, or developing weapons of mass distruction, and the UN was putting it's foot down.

Be well,

John Lennon, Strat?

Wasn't he, like, one of The Beatles, or something?

posted by Mademoiselle on October 24, 2006 at 7:49 AM | link to this | reply

No high fives? No Borneo flag? No orangutans?
It sounds like a John Lennon song, actually. Imagine that...
