I HAD A HEART ATTACK THURSDAY -- AND FRIDAY WILL HAVE DOUBLE BYPASS

Like wow. Thursday started like any day. I felt all right. Heartburn -- esophagus sensitive to hot liquids and such, Then chest pain. Thought it was an extension to the heartburn -- maybe a bit more serious heartburn. Didn't act like what I've heard -- I heard the pain would be sort of lower left... Sign in to see full entry.

THE FAWN

It's a post by northsage_45 about fawns he encountered that prompts this post. It was 1962 and when fawns are newly born -- or no more than a couple months old. My dad and I would ride our horses over to the field where he had planted about 30 or 40 acres of field corn -- I am somewhat sure of that... Sign in to see full entry.

HOW TO DEAL WITH BULLIES

I am really derelict in my responsibility toward my son, Kooka, and his two boys. I should have been posting here a lot more often. There is a lot I have gone through that they will and I can relate to them how I got through growing up (survived). Let's start with this principle: children, starting... Sign in to see full entry.

BUSTER

It's not often that a dog becomes prominent in people's lives. Yeah, I guess some people out there will say that their dogs are important parts of the family. Well, they got their dogs somewhere. Bought them or had them given to them. Then they are just pets. You might think they are more than that,... Sign in to see full entry.

THE HARD, FUN PRIMITIVE LIFE ON THE FARM (1st of several)

While I was at my son, Kooka's barbecue Saturday, the matter came up of camping and wilderness camping and fires and such. I conversed with Kooka's friend some about the matter, Kooka being close by, but I don't think he overheard the conversation. So here it is. I lived four winters (Jan 1961 - May... ON DEATH

My son, Kooka, has been blogging about his grandfather, my ex-father-in-law, who basically has given up on life, depressive, and feeling a uselessness about both himself and life in general. I suppose it's bad when you reach that point. My biological mother starved herself to death because she... Sign in to see full entry.

KOOKA'S GRANDFATHER -- PART III

He was a corker -- you had to say that about him. He grew up sort of rough and ready -- one of the boys. I would figure that that time in SW Iowa spawned some tough type kids -- or maybe it was St. Louis around 1927, when he was 29 -- 20 years old. Here he was down here on his own, doing all sorts... A COUPLE THINGS ABOUT KIDS -- SO'S YOU CAN REAR THEM RIGHT.

Getting off the subject of my Father and me (although I do take from my childhood experiences -- and observations of others). First -- recognize that they are going to be adults -- they are not just children for you to "push around" as you please. See the adult they are going to be. Next --... Sign in to see full entry.
